This custom built five-bedroom residence set in Brisbane's eastern suburbs features suspended slabs and architectural finishes including overhanging green spaces and rooftop planter boxes. 

Careful consideration was needed from an engineering perspective to achieve the impressive 3.3-metre-high V shaped steel column which is not only an aesthetic feature but also load bearing support for the master bedroom suite and perimeter planter boxes framed using reinforced concrete slab.

The residence boasts 4m high ceilings to the kitchen, dining and living areas with the upper bedroom level finished with timber framing.  

A three-car garage/showroom in the under croft maximises the available space.

Key structural engineering challenges included the lateral stability system of the suspended concrete slab on V-column support, long spanning lintel design to the 8m wide garage opening, tall timber framing to the open plan areas, and building above in-ground utility assets.
